Access Denied: Access Zone

An “Access Denied: Access Zone” event occurs when a user attempts access at a door and their credential is not allowed access.

The two conditions that cause this event are:

  • Access is being attempted outside of the assigned Time Zone

    • Event Viewer states: “Access denied: Access zone”

  • Access is being attempted at a door that is not in the assigned Door Group

    • Event Viewer states: “Access denied: Access zone not allowed at this door”

To fix “Access denied: Access zone”

  • Open Enrollment Manager and see which Function is associated with the credential

  • If the correct Function exists: Right click on the Credential, select Properties, the Function tab, add the correct Function to the credential

  • If no function exists: Add the correct Time Zone to the Door Group

    • Under Velocity Configuration, select Door Groups, either add a door group or select an existing door group

    • Once into the desired Door Group, add the desired Time Zone to the Door Group, then select Add
