Expansion Relays

Most controllers contain only a few base relays, most of which are used by doors for locks and other outputs.  If there are more output devices than the base relays can handle, expansion relay boards can accommodate them.  Most general-purpose control especially for such uses as elevators and medical cabinets is accomplished through expansion relays on expansion relay boards.

The relay points on the base Model SP (MSP-8R and MSP-64R) are interpreted as expansion relays.
