Getting Started
Installing Dwell Plug-In
Launch 3VR System Manager.
In the Configure panel, click the plus sign beside the appliance name.
Right-click the Plug-ins folder and select Add Plug-in.
In the resulting Confirm dialog box, click Install to proceed.
Navigate to the folder containing the plug-in file (Plugins.Dwell-Release-7.0.xxxxx.3pg) and click to highlight the file.
Click OK. The plug-in will now begin installing.
When the plug-in is installed, it will appear below Plug-ins in System Manager.
Entering Dwell License Key
The next step in plug-in configuration is to license the Dwell plug-in.
In the Configure panel, select the plug-in name to view its settings.
Click Edit Settings.
Copy (select the text and press Ctrl+C) the 23-character code from the Licensing Question field in the Edit Global Settings dialog.
Paste (press Ctrl+V) the licensing question into an email to 3VR Technical Support (support@3VR.com).
3VR Technical Support will respond with the matching 27-character key within 1 business day.
Copy (CTRL-C) and paste (CTRL-V) the key from the email into the License Key box in System Manager.
Click OK to save and return to the Configure panel.

In your email, you must include the system serial number and the number of cameras of Dwell purchased (reference the P.O. number of the order if available). Please also provide your contact information and the customer/reseller company name.

Configuring Per-Camera
Plug-In Settings
After binding the plug-in to cameras, links will appear under Bound Cameras for each camera.
Click a link (for example Edit “7. Lobby”) to edit the settings for that camera.
The following settings must be configured for each camera bound to the Dwell plug-in:
Drawing Dwell Zone
For each camera that is bound to the Dwell plug-in, you must define at least one dwell zone that will be analyzed for Dwell events.
Zones are specified in the Dwell Zone tab of the Edit Settings window.

This is a required step. If you do not draw a Dwell zone, no Dwell events will be generated on the camera. |
Use the following steps to draw a Dwell zone:
Click the Polygon icon
Click the video player to begin drawing a zone. Each click of the mouse will create a new line segment. To complete the polygon, click the mouse over your start position.
Edit the polygon by clicking and dragging its end points. Sections of the polygon may not overlap.
After creating the zone, edit the Name of the zone and make sure that [ ]Enabled is checked.
If desired, repeat steps 1-4 to create additional Dwell zones.

If a Dwell zone is created that is smaller than the size of the dwelling object, the Dwell plug-in will consider any object that envelops the zone as dwelling in the zone. This allows for the creation of Dwell “hot spots”, specific points of interest where you wish to capture Dwell events.
