Bosch Video Plug-in Configuration for Velocity Video Integration
Overview
The Bosch Video Management System manages all IP and digital video transmitted across the IP network. The Bosch VMS has a Configuration Wizard that helps with quick and easy configuration. The Configuration Wizard allows you to achieve a configured system including Video Recording Manager (VRM), iSCSI system, cameras, recording profiles, and user groups.
Bosch Video Plug-in Installation
Download the Bosch Video Plugin file from https://support.identiv.com/velocity-3-8/
Activate the Bosch Video Plugin using valid license details to proceed with the plugin installation
Double-click the Bosch Video Plugin, and the installation screen looks like the one below
Proceed further with the installation windows as shown
The video plugin is installed.
Configuring the Bosch DVR
After installing the Velocity video integration and supported plug-in, the following setup and configuration steps documented below need to be performed.
Add your Bosch DVR to Velocity
The Bosch DVR systems are preconfigured with a default IP address and iSCSI settings.Enter the default credentials
User: Administrator
Password: WSS4Bosch
Starting the Bosch VMS
Connect the Bosch DVR unit and the cameras to the network
Turn on the unit
The Windows Storage Server 2016 setup process starts
Select the appropriate language for the installation and click Next
In the Country or region, Time and currency, and Keyboard layout lists, click the appropriate item, then click Next.
The Microsoft Software License Terms and the EULA (End User License Agreement) is displayed.The login screen for the Bosch VMS default user is displayed
Enter the default password WSS4Bosch
A message is displayed that you must change the password.Change the password, then click Next
Change the network settings according to your IP environment
The Bosch VMS default screen is displayed.Double-click the Bosch VMS Wizard icon
Select the Configuration Wizard
The Welcome page is displayed
Click Next to proceed to the System window
If the license check fails or the connection to the Management Server cannot be established, a corresponding error message is displayed. You cannot continue working with the Configuration Wizard.
If VRM is unavailable on your system, a corresponding error message is displayed, and you cannot continue working with Configuration Wizard.
System
After configuring your IP address, the Network Settings may look like the one below.
13. Click Next to proceed to the Basic window
Basic
The settings are activated, and the page displays the latest saved configuration.
Click Port Mapping to specify the public IP address or DNS name, If the system has to be accessed via the internet.
14. Click Next to scan for the devices, which may take time
Scan
This page displays the video devices not included in the latest saved configuration.
15. Look for the device that should be added to the configuration and if not, clear the check box, then click Next to proceed to the Authentication window
 If the selected devices are not located in the same IP range as the DVR IP system, the IP address can be changed by specifying a start address for the device IP range.
Authentication
This page is used to authenticate video devices protected by a password.
16. Click Show passwords if you want them to be visible. Successfully authenticated devices are shown with a green lock
17. Click Next to proceed to the Camera window
Camera
Using this window, you can manage the cameras configured to your system. You can specify the recording quality of your camera settings by using the options in the Recording quality as shown and preview the results.
18. Click Next to continue to the Recording window
Recording
The cameras that are newly added are displayed in this window. As soon as this configuration is activated, you cannot change the profile assignment of these cameras.
19. You can enable motion recording for the recording profiles with both recording and alarm recording
20. Click Next to proceed to the Storage window
Storage
This window allows you to add further iSCSI storage devices.
21. Click Next to the Users window to add new users
Users
you can add new users to the existing user groups in the Users window.
22. Enter the new user name with their description and set a password. You can use the Configuration Wizard to add user groups and change user group permissions
23. Click Next to proceed to the activation window
Activation
To activate the configuration settings that you have done in the previous steps, you should:
Provide a global default password for all devices that are not currently protected by a password
Activate your license package if required
23. Click Save and activate to view the activation of the newly configured device as shown
