Primis Software Update

Primis server periodically checks the Internet for updates. When updates are available, Primis Web Admin will notify users with a blue button at the top right corner.

To download and update Primis software:

  1. Log in as either “system” or any administrator who has “Software Update” privilege.

  2. Click the blue “Update Available” button at the top right corner or simply navigate to System->Utilities->Software Update menu.

  1. Click the “Download Update” button and click “OK” to confirm:

  1. Download process will take a few minutes to complete:

  1. Once the download is complete, an “Update Software” button will appear.

  1. Click “Install Update”, then click “OK” to confirm:

  2. Click “OK” again to proceed:

  3. The update will start, the process will take a few minutes:

  4. After the update is complete, Primis will redirect the web browser back to its login page:

     

Events

The Event Viewer is a read-only screen displaying all events detected by the Primis Software as they occur throughout the monitored systems. An Event Viewer screen within the Primis Software looks like the one below.

You will notice a vertical scroll bar enabling you to scroll up or down through a list of all currently recorded events. Events are categorized by Event Type.

The software update process can be viewed on the Events page once the software is installed. It also lists the various messages like Software found, Software downloaded, Software Installed, etc.

Event Codes For Software Update

20161 refers to Software Update- No Update Found

20161 refers to Software Update- Update Found, Version v12.x.x

20169 indicates Software Update- Install Update v12.x.x successful

20163 indicates Software Update - Download Update Started

20165 indicates Software Update - Download Progress

20166 indicates Software Update - Error Downloading
