Installation and Configuration

Prerequisites

Ensure that the following pre-requisites are met before beginning the installation:

  • Access to a Windows Server 2008 R2 system running OnGuard software suite, version 6.5 or 6.6

  • The OnGuard DataConduIT documentation.

  • 3VRAccessEventAdapterInstall.exe (obtained from 3VR Technical Support).

  • The OnGuard system is licensed for the DataConduIT service.

In the OnGuard license administration application, check to be sure that “Maximum Number of DataConduIT Clients” is at least 1 (more if you’re using other DataConduIT services on your system).

Enabling Single Sign-On

For the DataConduIT service to run and send events to the 3VR Appliance, you will need to have a user enabled for single sign on. Refer to Chapter 2, “Getting Started” in the OnGuard DataConduIT User Guide for assistance with the following steps.

  1. Launch and sign in to the OnGuard System Administration application.

  2. From the Administration menu, select Directories.

  3. Click Add. In the Add Directory dialog window, under Based on template select Windows Vista/XP Workstation.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Enter a directory Name.

  6. Verify that Enable single sign-on is checked.

  7. Click Browse and select the Host name.

  8. Click OK to save your changes.

  9. From the Administration menu, select Users.

  10. Select the user account you wish to use from the list. It is recommended that you use ‘System Account’ or create a new user account.

  11. Click Modify.

  12. Ensure that Access to this system is disabled is not checked.

  13. In the Directory Accounts tab, click the Link button.

  14. Select the Windows account that should be linked to the OnGuard user account.

  15. Click OK in the Select Account window.

  16. Click OK.

Enabling Software Events

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Open Administrative Tools > Services.

  3. Right-click LS DataConduIT Service and select Properties.

  4. From the Startup type drop-down menu, select Automatic.

  5. Click the Start button.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the LS Linkage Server service.

Setting Necessary OnGuard Services to Start Automatically

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Open Administrative Tools > Services.

  3. Right-click LS DataConduIT Service and select Properties.

  4. From the Startup type dropdown menu, select Automatic.

  5. Click the Start button.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the LS Linkage Server service.
