Installation Preparation

Hardware Requirements

  • Advantec ADAM 6050 digital I/O device (12 inputs, 6 outputs)

  • Ethernet cable

Software Requirements

  • ADAM Digital I/O plug-in file: Plugins.AdamDIO-Release-1.0.0.xx-7.x.x.3pg

  • ADAM configuration utility: Advantech AdamApax .NET Utility Ver 2.04.04.exe included on a disc in the box with the ADAM device, or can be downloaded from Support.Advantech.com.

Configuring ADAM Digital I/O Device

  1. Connect the ADAM 6050 to the network with the Ethernet cable.

  2. Launch the Adam Apax .NET Utility.

  3. Right-click your computer’s IP address (under Ethernet) and select Search. The utility will then search the network for ADAM modules on the network.

  4. The default IP address of the ADAM module is 10.0.0.1. You will find it listed under the Others item, named something like ADAM5000TCP_6000.

  5. Configure the network settings of the ADAM, then click Apply Change.

  6. You will be prompted for the password; the default password of the ADAM module is 00000000.

  7. Click the Peer to Peer/Event tab.

  8. Under Mode, select Basic and then click Apply.

  9. Change the Period time setting to 4095 seconds (this is the maximum value).

  10. Click the check box next to Enable Change of State.

  11. In the Destination box, type the IP address of the 3VR VIP Appliance.

  12. Click Apply List to save your changes

Configuring ADAM Digital I/O Plug-In

Installing Adam Digital I/O Plug-in

Launch 3VR System Manager.
2. In the Configure panel, click the plus sign beside the appliance
name.
3. Right-click the Plug-ins folder and select Add Plug-in.
4. In the resulting Confirm dialog box, click Install to proceed.
5. Navigate to the folder containing the plug-in file
(Plugins.AdamDIO-Release-1.0.0.xx-7.x.x.3pg) and click to
highlight the file.
6. Click OK. The plug-in will now begin installing.
7. When the plug-in is installed, it will appear below Plug-ins in System Manager.
