Updating all other Client Appliances

  1. In System Manager, click Maintenance to go to the Maintenance panel.

  2. Click the Update Software tab.

  3. Check the box next to the Enterprise Appliance. The Enterprise Appliance is indicated by an icon with three green cubes:

  4. Click Schedule Update. In the Schedule Update window, select the update package to use for the update from the Package drop-down menu.

    • If the update package is not listed, click Add Package and select the update file. See section 5 of this chapter for more information on managing update packages.

  5. Specify the date and time the Enterprise update should occur.

  6. Click Schedule Update.

  7. System Manager will launch the Scheduled Updates dialog, showing that there is a pending update.

  8. Click Close to return to the Update Software tab.

  1. Click Clear All to deselect the VIP Enterprise Appliance.

  5. Specify the date and time for the update. The appliance update should be scheduled for 10 minutes after the Enterprise update. For example, if the Enterprise update is scheduled for 9:00 PM, the appliance update should be scheduled for 9:10 PM (or later).

  7. System Manager will launch the Scheduled Updates dialog, showing that there are now two pending updates, one for the Enterprise and one for its appliances.

  8. Click Close to return to the Update Software tab.

Updating Client Applications

  3. Click View Scheduled Updates.

  4. To view information about an update, select it from the list.
    Details about the update will appear in the Messages panel of the Scheduled Updates dialog.

  5. To cancel a pending update, select it from the list.

  6. Click Stop/Cancel.

  7. In the dialog that pops up, click Yes to confirm that you wish to cancel the scheduled update.

  8. Click Close to close the Scheduled Updates dialog and return to the Update Software tab.

Adding a new Updated Package

  2. In the Choose 3VR Update File window, locate the software update file, named Appliance-VIMS-7.0.X.XXXXX-en-us.3pa (where the Xs represent the software version and build number).

  1. Select the package to delete.

  2. Click Delete.

  3. In the dialog that pops up, click Yes to confirm that you wish to delete the selected update package.

Note

Deleting an update package will also cancel any pending updates associated with the package.

  1. Launch 3VR System Manager.

  2. In the Configure tab, click the plug sign next to the system name to expand the list of configuration options.

  3. Click the plus sign next to Plugins to display the list of plug-ins on the system.

  4. Right-click the plug-in and select Update “[Plug-in Name]”.

  5. In the dialog that appears, click Update to acknowledge that you must restart the system software after upgrading the plug-in.

  6. In the Choose 3VR Plug-in File window, select the plug-in update file (extension.3pg).

  7. Click OK.

  8. To complete the update, right-click the system name and select Restart 3VR Software from the menu.

  9. In the Confirm dialog box, click Restart to initiate the software restart.

  10. Wait 1-2 minutes for the software to fully restart before proceeding.
