How to Configure Named Pipes and TCP/IP Protocols in the SQL Server Configuration Manager_v3.8.5
The SQL Server Network Configuration node of the SQL Server Configuration Manager allows configuring Named Pipes and TCP/IP after installing Velocity.
Named Pipes may provide marginally faster inter-process communication in some environments.
To configure Named Pipes and TCP/IP, perform the steps in this procedure:
Select Start and from the list of the programs, select SQL Server Configuration Manager in Microsoft SQL Server 2019.
In the SQL Server Configuration Manager screen, select SQL Server Network Configuration → Protocols for IDENTIV.
Double click or right-click Named Pipes under Protocol Name. Click Enable.
Double click or right-click TCP/IP. The TCP/IP Properties screen appears.
Goto IP Addresses tab. Scroll to the bottom to enter the TCP Port number 1433.
Click Apply and then OK for the changes to take place.
