Suspected Point of Sale Events
Viewing and Monitoring Suspect PoS Events in Monitor Panel
Unlike other 3VR plug-ins, the Customer Not Present (CNP) plug-in does not generate events. Instead, it adds a metadata field to events generated by a Point of Sale (PoS) plug-in. Please refer the documentation for your PoS plug-in for general information about monitoring and searching PoS events.
The OpCenter Monitor panel allows you to view events as they happen. Consult the User Guide for your specific PoS plug-in for more information about viewing PoS events in the Monitor Panel.
Use the following steps to view recent events generated by the PoS plug-in:
In 3VR OpCenter, click the Monitor tab to go to the Monitor panel.
Click camera numbers to select the cameras associated with the Dwell plug-in.
Click the arrow below the camera selector to open the event type drop-down menu.
Select the event type that matches the name of the PoS plug-in.
Click OK. The Monitor panel will update to display only PoS events from the selected cameras.
To view an event, click the event card. The event card will turn blue, indicating it is currently selected.
Click on the Details tab to see the detailed metadata associated with the event.
One of the fields will be labeled Suspect. This is an additional field created by the CNP plug-in. A value of 0 indicates an event where a customer was present during the transaction and that is not considered suspect. A value of 100 indicated an event where no customer was present during some part of the transaction and is considered suspect.

Setting Up a Suspect PoS Search
Use the Search panel to find suspect PoS events recorded days, weeks, or months ago:
To go to the Search panel, click the New Search tab.
Define the dates, days of the week, and time ranges to search for events.
Under Cameras, select one or more cameras bound to the CNP plug-in.
Under Events, select the event type that matches the name of the PoS plug-in.
Click (•)Specify to further refine the search.
Select [√]Suspect and enter a value between between 0 and 100.
Click the Search button.
Suspect PoS events will be displayed in the Search panel results screen.
Select an event card to view the video clip and details associated with the event.
Alerts for Suspected POS Events
Creating Alerts
In the Alerts panel, you can instruct the 3VR appliance to perform a specified action when suspect transactions occur.
Use the following steps to set up an alert that will perform an action, such as sending an email, in response to the generation of a suspect PoS event:
To go to the Alerts panel, click the Alerts tab.
To create a new alert, click New.
In the alert editing screen, define the criteria for the alert:Type a name for the new alert.
Select a color for the alert. The color will be displayed on event cards that trigger the alert.
Specify the day of the week and hours that the alert should be active.
Under Cameras, select a camera configured for CNP.
Check the boxes next to one or more alert Actions to carry out when the alert is triggered.
If desired, type an alert response procedure. This text will be included with the alert and posted on events that trigger the alert.
Under Events, select the event type that matches the name of the PoS plug-in.
Click (•)Specify to further refine the search.
Select [√] Suspect and enter a value between 0 and 100.
Click the Save button.
The alert will be added to the list of alerts displayed in the main view of the Alerts panel. Click the check box next to the alert to enable it.
