3VR VisionPoint Privacy Scheduling

Overview

The Privacy Scheduling feature in 3VR System Manager disables camera recording,camera live view during specific office or store working hours. The effects are similar to disabling a channel for a particular time.

The following sections and the steps describe the different privacy scheduling features.

Disabling Privacy Schedule in 3VR System Manager

  1. Log in to 3VR System Manager.
  2. Select a Channel.
  3. Go to General Settings.
  4. Select Appliance Privacy Schedule for Disabling video and select Edit as shown in the below Figure.

  5. In Edit Disabling Video Schedule window, click Add Weekday and Add Holiday.
  6. Specify the Start Time and End Time for the weekday and specify the holiday with description.
  7. Click OK.

Adding Holiday

Adding Holiday allows to define exceptions to overwrite the weekday schedule. This means that, if the holiday is on a weekday and privacy scheduling is enabled on that day, still recording happens. The holiday takes the precedence.

Follow the steps to Add holiday to  overwrite weekday schedule and to enable video recording.

  1. Log in to 3VR System Manager.
  2. Select a Channel.
  3. Go to General Settings.
  4. Select Appliance Privacy Schedule for Disabling video
  5. Click Edit Schedule.
  6. Select Add Weekday.
    The Add Weekday window displays.
  7. Enter the date and Time in the Weekday window.
  8. Select Add Holiday.
  9. Enter the holiday with description.

  10. Switch to 3VR OpCenter from 3VR System Manager and check if the recording happens during the scheduled holiday.

Editing Privacy Schedule during Weekday

  1. Log in to 3VR System Manager.
  2. Select a Channel.
  3. Go to General Settings.
  4. Select Appliance Privacy Schedule for Disabling video.
  5. Click Edit Schedule.
  6. Select Add Weekday.
    The Add Weekday window displays.
  7. Enter the date and Time in the Weekday window.
  8. Select Add Holiday.
  9. Enter the holiday with description.
  10. Click Ok.
    Switch to OpCenter to confirm that the video recording is paused during the scheduled weekday.

    The 3VR System Manger displays the channel as PAUSED and the video recording stops. The Server time syncs with the schedule time in the channel.

Editing Privacy Schedule

  1. Log in to 3VR System Manager.
  2. Select a channel.
  3. Go to General Settings.
  4. Select Channel Privacy Schedule for Disabling video.
  5. Select Edit Schedule and make the changes.

Editing Holiday Schedule

Follow the steps 1 to 5 in Editing Privacy Schedule and then

  1. Click Add Holiday Schedule.
    The Add Holiday window displays.
  2. Add/Edit the Date and Time in the Add Holiday window.
  3. Click Ok.
    Go to OpCenter to confirm that the video recording happens during the holiday.

Deleting Privacy Schedule

The 3VR privacy scheduling feature allows the user to delete any scheduled weekday or holiday. To delete the schedule:

  1. Log in to 3VR System Manager.
  2. Select a channel.
  3. Go to General Settings.
  4. Select Channel Privacy Schedule for Disabling video.
  5. Select Edit Schedule.
  6. Select an existing weekday and click Delete Weekday as shown in the Figure below.
  7. Select an existing holiday and click Delete Holiday as shown in the Figure below.

Adding Multiple Schedule

Adding Multiple Schedule allows the user to plan and have different schedule on different days in a week and edit multiple schedule on any weekday on the same channel. To add multiple schedule:

  1. Log into 3VR System Manager.
  2. Select Channel->General Settings->Privacy Schedule for Disabling video in Edit Schedule.
  3. Edit a weekday schedule to start recording for 30 minutes in between the schedule office hours as shown in Figure below.


    In the figure below, the user adds multiple schedule on the same day on a channel. On Monday, the camera is scheduled to record from 17:00 to 17:30 in between 8:00 AM to 23:30 PM. 
  4. Switch to 3VR OpCenter from 3VR System Manager to confirm the recording of camera from 17:00 PM to 17:30 PM.
    The Privacy Settings is applied after 17:30 PM and continues till the schedule time @23:30 PM.
    In Figure below the recording of video take place from 17:00 PM to 17:30 PM.

After the schedule time the Channel is paused, and no video recording happens. The user can go back to OpCenter to make sure the recording does not happen during the scheduled time.

Determining Privacy Scheduling Precedence

When determining how to configure the privacy schedule, the following order should be considered to insure channels are recorded or paused accordingly.

  1. A holiday schedule configured on an individual channel has the highest precedence over any daily privacy schedule configured on that channel or the appliance as a whole.

  2. A daily privacy schedule configured on an individual channel has the second highest precedence.

  3. A holiday schedule configured on an appliance has the third highest precedence.

  4. A daily privacy schedule configured on an appliance has the fourth highest precedence.

Appliance Template

Appliance templates save user time and get the job done quickly by applying the existing settings. The template is saved in .3cf format.

Saving Appliance Template

To create appliance template:

  1. Log in to 3VR System manager.
  2. Right click VMS Server and select Save Template as shown in the Figure below.
  3. In the Create Template dialog window, select the settings that are required as shown in the Figure below. Click to Save to File.
  4. The Save Template window displays. Enter the file name and click Save. The file is saved in .3cf extension to the destination.

Applying Camera Settings at Channel Level

Applying Camera Settings saves the user time at channel level when multiple cameras need to configure at Appliance level. To copy camera settings:

  1. Log in to 3VR System Manager.
  2. Select a Channel.
  3. Go to Common Operations -> select Copy Camera Settings
  4. Select the Source Camera drop-down from where the settings must be copied to the Destination Camera and click Copy.
