Prerequisites

  • Check the Appliance series and model number against part number legend to make sure that appliance comes with RAID. Some 3VR models are Non-RAID. If you do not you will waste a lot time trying to access a RAID system on a Non-RAID appliance.

Sometimes, you may waste a lot time trying to access a RAID system on a Non-RAID appliance

  1. Tap the Delete key until the BIOS splash screen appears as pictured below.

  2. Hold the CTRL key down and continuously tap the I key until the RAID BIOS interface appears, a blue, white, and black interface.

  3. Have the client shut down the appliance and disconnect the power cord.

  4. Suggest the user to reseat the failed hard disk if it has a Hard Disk Drive accessible carriage.

In E-Series, open the Appliance and disconnect the data cable and reconnect it to the drive. Sometimes this will allow you to rebuild that disk when the system is turned back on or it may just be fine if it was a connection error to the disk.
