Transaction Events

Monitoring Recent Transaction Events in the Monitor Panel

The OpCenter Monitor panel allows you to view events as they happen. You can specify which cameras to view, and what types of events are displayed.

Use the following steps to view recent events generated by a transaction plugin:

  1. In 3VR OpCenter, click the Monitor tab to go to the Monitor panel.

  2. Click camera numbers to select the cameras associated with the plug-in.

  3. Click the arrow below the camera selector to open the event type drop-down menu.

  4. Select a transaction event type to monitor:

    • [ ]Transaction

    • [ ]ATM transaction

  5. Click OK.

  6. The Monitor panel will update to display only transaction events from the selected cameras.

  7. To view an event, click the event card. The event card will turn blue, indicating it is currently selected.

Transaction Event Cards

A transaction event will be generated in OpCenter whenever the VIP Appliance receives a transaction from a transaction source (ATM or teller station) integrated with the appliance.

Transaction event cards contain the details of each transaction (account number, transaction type, amount, etc.) as well as images and video from the camera linked to the transaction source. They appear in the Monitor panel for recent events and in the Search panel for search results. Transaction event cards contain the following information in storyboard view:

  • Thumbnail image

  • Camera number and name

  • Time of event

  • Event type

  • Length of the event video clip

  • Transaction source (ATM or Teller ID and IP address)

  • Receipt text

Viewing

When a transaction event card is selected, details about the event may be viewed in the event editor, located below the video player.

In addition to the tabs available for all event types, such as Notes and Images, transaction events include the following information in the Details tab of the event editor*:

  • ATM/Teller ID: The ID of the transaction source

  • IP Address: The IP address of the transaction source

  • Type: This will always be “transaction” unless the ATM is configured to send other messages (such as alarms) to the VIP Appliance

  • Text: The full text of the transaction receipt

  • Mapped: Yes/No field indicating whether or not the camera was linked to a specific transaction source during configuration.

The information in this section applies to 3VR’s generic transaction plug-ins (such as the ATM Data Capture Plug-in). Custom transaction plug-ins may populate different fields in the Details tab than what is shown here.

Searching for Transaction Events

Use the Search panel to find transaction events generated days, weeks, or months ago.

  1. To go to the Search panel, click the Search tab.

  2. Define the dates, days of the week, and time ranges to search for events.

  3. Under Cameras, select one or more cameras bound to the transaction plug-in.

  4. Under Events, select the transaction event type to search for:

      • To search for transactions by the account number, transaction amount, or other properties, type a search string in the Text box. This will search through the entire text of the receipt.

The information in this section applies to 3VR’s generic transaction plug-ins (such as the ATM Data Capture Plug-in) only. Custom transaction plug-ins may show different ( )Specify search options than what is shown here. Click the question mark (?) button to view plug-in specific help text.

  6. When you are finished defining the criteria for the search, click the Search button.

  7. Transaction events matching your criteria will be displayed in the Search panel results screen.

  8. Select an event card to view the video clip and details associated with the event.

Creating Alerts for Transaction Events

In the Alerts panel, you can instruct the 3VR appliance to perform a specified action when video is recorded that matches certain criteria. Use the following steps to set up an alert that will perform an action, such as sending an email, in response to an event generated by a transaction plug-in.

  1. To go to the Alerts panel, click the Alerts tab.

  2. To create a new alert, click New.

In the alert editing screen, define the criteria for the alert:

  6. Under Cameras, select one or more cameras bound to the transaction plug-in.

  7. Check the boxes next to one or more alert Actions to carry out when the alert is triggered.

  8. If desired, type an alert response procedure. This text will be included with the alert and posted on events that trigger the alert.
