Inside this equipment, there is a label that contains, among other information, a product identifier in the format US:AAAEQ##TXXXX. If requested, this number must be provided to the telephone company.

b) An applicable certification jacks Universal Service Order Codes (USOC) for the equipment is provided (i.e., RJ11C) in the packaging with each piece of approved terminal equipment.

c) A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and telephone network must comply with the applicable FCC Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. A compliant telephone cord and modular plug are provided with this product. It is designed to be connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. See installation instructions for details.

d) The REN is used to determine the number of devices that may be connected to a telephone line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most but not all areas, the sum of RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the local telephone company. [For products approved after July 23, 2001, the REN for this product is part of the product identifier that has the format US:AAAEQ##TXXXX. The digits represented by ## are the REN without a decimal point (e.g., 03 is a REN of 0.3). For earlier products, the REN is separately shown on the label.]

e) If the equipment FR-50-21-50-AD2M and FR-50-21-125-AD2M causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. If the equipment is causing harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may request that you disconnect the equipment until the problem is resolved.

h) Connection to party line service is subject to state tariffs. Contact the state public utility commission, public service commission, or corporation commission for information.

If your home has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure the installation of this FR-50-21-50-AD2M and FR-50-21-125-AD2M does not disable your alarm equipment. If you have questions about what will disable alarm equipment, consult your telephone company or a qualified installer.

According to telephone company reports, AC electrical surges, typically resulting from lightning strikes, are very destructive to telephone equipment connected to AC power sources. To minimize damage from these types of surges, a surge arrestor is recommended.

Applicable for Coin or Pay Phone Only

To comply with state tariffs, the telephone company must be given notification prior to connection for customer-owned coin or credit card phones. In some states, the state public utility commission, public service commission, or corporation commission must give prior approval of connection.

Section 2: Accessories and Modifications

All panels have been factory tested before shipping to ensure all functions are operating correctly and the panel is ready for proper installation and activation. Please see the notes below regarding any modifications to panels.

  • Additional hardware options and technical upgrades that are purchased from your Identiv selling agent or from Identiv directly must be installed by a technician who has been approved for installation by Identiv. CONTACT YOUR IDENTIV SALES REP FOR RECOMMENDATIONS OF APPROVED INSTALLERS.

  • Please consult with your dealer or Identiv Sales Rep for available accessories and optional hardware if the panel you have purchased does not meet your physical or technical requirements. Any third-party, undocumented, or unauthorized physical modifications, additions, or alterations to panels will immediately void the manufacturer's warranty.

  • Any alteration, addition, or modification of the internal components of panels may cause damage to these components and interfere with normal operation and will immediately void the manufacturer's warranty.

  • All internal components that require replacement must be replaced with Identiv factory-approved parts and components and must be replaced by a technician approved by Identiv. Failure to follow this procedure will immediately void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Section 3: Physical Access

  • Physical access to your new panel is secured through the keyed lock mechanism located either at the top front (EnterphoneTM 19), or side front (EnterphoneTM iQ).

  • To ensure proper operation of the locking mechanism, ensure that the lock strike remains perpendicular to the leading edge of the panel when the unit is open and showing the strike. If the lock strike is not in the correct position the mechanism may not effectively lock the panel.

  • It is strongly recommended that keys be copied after purchase and placed in a documented and secured location to allow access to the panel as needed. Loss of keys will require physical removal and replacement of the lock at the expense of the customer. Lock replacement or modification must be completed by a technician approved by Identiv. Any uncertified or third-party modification of the lock mechanism will immediately void the manufacturer's warranty.

For privacy and security, Identiv does NOT retain documented copies of keys for panels.

Choosing an appropriate install location

Check and follow all building codes, regulations and requirements prior to installation, including requirements specific to access for persons with disabilities. Correct installation of your Identiv EnterphoneTM panels, and access control equipment is a regulatory requirement.

Your Enterphone is secured to the wall by four screws. For maximum strength, choose a location where all four screws can be anchored in wall studs. If this is not possible, at least two screws MUST be anchored in wall studs, with the remaining two screws using the supplied drywall anchors.

If your installation site does not permit at least two screws to be anchored in wall studs, please contact your Identiv sales rep to discuss alternative solutions.

Protecting your Enterphone product

DO NOT install panels in locations that are subject to constant or prolonged direct sunlight without the appropriate protection or covering hardware.

Excessive heat and prolonged temperatures above the stated operating tolerances of the panel and its components will void the manufacturer warranty.

Please see Table 1 for specifications regarding panel and component standard operating temperature ranges.

DO NOT install or operate panels in locations that are subject to constant or prolonged rainfall or inclement weather conditions without the appropriate protection or covering hardware.

DO NOT install or operate panels in locations that are subject to water run-off, significant water collection, or high-pressure spray under any circumstances.

Water damage to your Enterphone product’s internal components will void the manufacturer warranty.

Contact your Identiv sales rep to discuss protective equipment for your product.

Mounting your Enterphone

Two people are required to safely mount the Enterphone product.

Prepare to install your product

  1. Use the correct mounting diagram to measure the mounting hole locations.

  2. For screws into wall studs, drill a pilot hole 2 inches deep using a 7/32″ drill bit.

  3. For screws using drywall anchors, drill a pilot hole 2 inches deep using a 7/32″ drill bit.

  4. Your Enterphone product has three cut-outs on the back for cable routing. Identify which cut-out or cut-outs you will use, and make any necessary cut-outs in the wall.

Route the external cables

Your Enterphone product requires the following external connections:

  1. RJ45 Ethernet cable connected to your network for configuration and monitoring

  2. RJ11 phone line cable connected to a POTS port

  3. Electric door strike cable

  4. Mains power, via included power supply

Route these cables to the product installation site and through the cut-outs in the wall. Allow enough slack to connect the cables to your product. Do not connect the power supply to mains power yet.

Connect the cables to the product

Refer to Figure 1 (Enterphone iQ) or Figure 2 (Enterphone 19) for connection locations.

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable to the product’s network connector located on the motherboard at “A. Ethernet”

  2. Connect the relay power for the door release to the relay outputs at “TB1”. See Figure 3 for the door release connector pinout.

  3. Connect an RJ11 phone line cable to the phone line in socket on the surge protector at “D. RJ11 ”

DO NOT connect the product to power or power up the product yet.

Mount the product

Enterphone iQ

  1. Screw the supplied screws into the pilot holes or wall anchors, leaving a small amount of the shaft protruding.

  2. Hang the Enterphone iQ unit on the screws. Check that it is seated securely.

  3. Screw down all four screws.

Enterphone 19

Secure the unit to the wall using the supplied screws. If some screws are using wall anchors, secure the screws to the wall studs first.

Ground Connection

All Enterphone models have an earth-ground connection which must be permanently connected to the building earth by a skilled person. Refer to “E. Protective Earth” in Fig 1 and Fig 2 to make the connections.

Section 5: Powering Up Your Panel

All panels are powered by one 5A 12VDC power supply. These power supplies must be connected to standard main power outlets. Always ensure that power connections and inputs are secure BEFORE activating the panel and that they have been installed by an Identiv-approved technician. External power input needs to be connected at the power strip “B. 12VDC” as per the marked polarity in the above Figures 1 and 2.

With the exception of external power input to the panel, all power connections to internal components are factory connected and secured and should not be disconnected or altered at any time. Doing so will immediately void the manufacturer warranty.

Supplied voltage above or below the above specifications can result in damage to internal components and processes and may void the manufacturer warranty.

The cables used to connect power to Enterphone panels must meet the following requirements:

Length

Minimum Gauge

up to 15'

18 AWG

15' to 30'

16 AWG

For Installers, “After installing the Enterphone and connecting power, attach a label to the power cable indicating the max voltage and current (12VDC and 5A)”.

Section 6: Virtual Access and Programming

  • Tenant and access updating of the panel is accomplished through the Identiv Web Graphical User Interface (GUI). The Web Administration and login page for this GUI are accessible via any standard web browser, provided that the PC is on the same Local Area Network as the panel. The default IP address for each panel is 192.168.123.101.

Please refer to the Primis Solution Guide for additional information concerning the configuration and management of your panel.

  • The default login information for the Web Application is as follows (both are case-sensitive):

 USERNAME: enterphone
PASSWORD:  identiv

These must be changed from the defaults during the software configuration process.
