In E-Series, open the Appliance and disconnect the data cable and reconnect it to the drive. Sometimes this will allow you to rebuild that disk when the system is turned back on or it may just be fine if it was a connection error to the disk.

Info

When a support call arrives for a Storage Failure Raid and troubleshoot this, when going into the RAID BIOS and you have the technician delete the volume, have them double check the status of the drives before creating a new volume. We want to make sure those drives have been reset to non-raided drives. If under the status column that drive indicates “Smart Storage”, that means the drive is degraded and an IW component RMA is needed for that drive. Let the technical team know the system will be down until the new drive is received.
