Starting from Velocity 3.8.5, the .NET Framework 3.8 runtime is bundled with Velocity to avoid downloading. Except for Windows Server 2022, other OS Server versions such as Windows Server 2019/2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2012 (64-bit edition) don’t come with preinstalled .NET Framework 4.8.

3. Click Next to proceed to the Service and Website Settings window as in step 4.

  • In the Install Option, the option to Install Velocity Web Service only enables the last option on this window to Create a Website bundle for a separate machine. This allows you to install the Web site on a different computer than your Velocity Server. Please take a look at VWSC Installation on Remote System for more details.

  • Enabling SSL communication for Velocity Web Service and Website provides a secure and safe way to log in.

  • The Authentication Mode can either be through Forms Authentication or Windows Authentication, as shown. The preferred authentication mode is stored in the configuration file to avoid overrides by the Velocity web client.

4. The Service and Website Settings screen appears.

5. On this Service and Website Settings screen:

  1. In the Service Account field, verify or change the user account (by default in the Velocity Services group) that the underlying service for the Velocity Web Services Client will use to log on to Velocity. The default information is automatically obtained for you.

  2. In the Password field, enter the password that the specified Service Account will use to log on to Velocity. (Enter the same password on the Velocity Installer wizard's Application Network and Security page.)

  3. In the Port number field, enter the network port number used for communication between Velocity and the Velocity Web Services Client.

  4. Click Next to proceed until you get a screen like the one below.

  5. Click Next to view the completion window like the one below.
