  1. Select the Object Library check box in the Main menu and the Object Library pane displays.

  2. Expand the Topology folder till you reach the underlying panel, area, points, and output components that you need to place in the drawing are displayed.

  3. Drag the required component from the selected folder to the drawing and carefully position them at the correct location.

    If required, you can modify other features of the objects by right-clicking on the object.

  1. Click Graphics in the Main menu.

  2. In design mode, click Design->Draw and select IDS Area.

  3. Draw the desired area on the map.

  4. The Map IDS constructs a specific IDS panel Area and configures the IDS Area border and interior as shown.

Typically the IDS VIOs get plotted on the map as well, and you will draw the IDS Area around these plotted VIO objects as shown above.

The Areas, Points, and Outputs for IDS Panels added through Velocity must be given individual access and overall access to IDS panels. For example, when the operator wants to access specific areas, points/outputs of a panel configured, the permissions for each must be given explicitly by the server.

  1. Login as Velocity Superuser in Velocity Server.

  2. Navigate from Main Menu-> Administration-> Roles->Operators.

    The Role Operators window displays.

  3. Select Application Permissions->IDS Panels and enable the role for the desired functions (Add/Delete/Save/View). The operator must have view permission to access the IDS panel and perform any operation.

  4. To give specific access, select IDS Panels, IDS Areas, IDS Points, or IDS Outputs individually to give specific access.
